Update on Hockey(Personal Addition# 9)

We lost our game last night :( The score was 6-4. So it wasnt too bad. There was a player on the other team who had might tricky stick handling. Im pretty sure he got 4 of their goals.  SO that means we are out and done. Kind of sad about it, Im going to miss it. I had a lot of fun. But Im very proud of all of us. We improved so much from start to finish. Started out with a completely new team. The boys had never played with girls before and the girls? Well we had never really played before. So it was awesome and Im hoping to play again next year.

Final Thoughts

Final Thoughts

My favorite assignment that we did in this class is 6 Word Memoirs. I thought they were super cool and it was very interesting to put something big out there using only 6 words and a picture. I also liked placing the words with a picture. This assignment was fun and a great way to express ourselves.

I liked all the assignments we did in this class but, the one I enjoyed doing the least was Newspaper Blackout Poetry. I thought it was really cool. I could never come up with something like that, its interesting and looks sweet. But I struggled with this one a lot. It took me a while to get into it.

Friday reading is my favorite thing about this class. I have never been a reader. I just always found it hard to sit down and read because I am the sort of person who gets distracted fairly easily. Since this class, I love to read. Ive read a total of 4 books this semester. I know thats not really alot but for me thats pretty good! Its improved my reading skills so much and Im really excited about it.

Monday written reflection wasnt always my favorite. I dont really have a reason why. I mean, I dont mind them but they werent my favorite.

The WRN is something I definitely could have put more effort into. The concept of it is really cool and would be great to look back on years from now. I wish I was more consistent with it.

Having a blog was extremely new to me. At first, I was a little hesitant of it but throughout the semester I began to become more comfortable with it. I actually like having a blog. Its sweet to get my feelings/ thoughts/homework out there and have people share their opinion or know that someone out there agrees. I plan on keeping my blog and hopefully keeping it fairly updated.

Tweeting was also something that I was pretty new to. I used to think that having a Twitter account was silly and that it was pretty much facebook without the pictures. This class opened me up to the idea and showed me I was wrong. I found out that I can learn a lot from Twitter and its pretty cool! I started to check my twitter more often and now I really like having it. One day I want to get to 100 Followers.

Personally, Im really happy we used technology in this class. I learned that technology is not only for talking to people and things like that. I can use it to learn things and write things and everything like that. This class wouldve been way different without technology. It brought some fun into the class.

I learned A LOT about myself as a reader, writer thinker and creator this semester. This class was very good for me I think. As I was saying above, it brought the reading out of me. Im so thankful for that because I love to read and I'm excited to keep reading. As a writer, I learned that I didnt actually know that much about writing. There was lots of different styles and techniques I learned in this class that will come in handy for sure in the future.

Ms. McLauchlan, you are a really cool teacher. Also youve taught us a lot of things that are worth learning. Thank you so much for that!

Advice for future students: Dont forget to do your personal additions!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Briitt (personal Addition 8)

This is one of my best friends Britt. She moved to Winnipeg 6 years ago and we just clicked. Now she is moving to BC in less than 2 weeks. I love this girl so much. Last night was her family's farewell at our church. There was very many people there and I was asked to say a few words about her. I got up there and talked and even cried a little which I wasn't expecting at all. Mostly because I feel like it hasnt clicked in yet that she's leaving. Also because Im not usually a HUGE cryer haha. But I think it hit me that she's leaving a little. Im gonna miss her.

Bridal Shower (Personal Addition 7)

So my sister is getting married this summer. So 2 weeks ago we had her bridal shower. My auntie planned the whole thing and I was in charge of decorating. So i got all the bridesmaids together and we had a blast setting up before hand. The shower was so much fun and my sister looked stunning! Im so happy for her :)

Ball Hockey(Personal Addition 6)

Sooo I joined a Ball Hockey Team this year.......Ive never played hockey on a team in my life. In fact I don't usually play it for fun either. But my brother was making a team and didnt have enough players so I decided to join. Im so happy that i did. It turns out that I LOVE hockey. Ive had soo much fun playing. Last week I got my first goal and I was sooooo excited! Tonight could possibly be our last game if we lose. If not we play tomorrow. Im definitely going to miss playing every week!

Authors Note

My name is Kathleen Moulton. I am eighteen years old and I live in Winnipeg. In a nutshell, I love going to church, it is a huge part of who I am. My friends and family mean so much to me, they’ve each helped me through a lot. I love kids, I want to be an elementary school teacher. I love food and I love to make lists.  Speaking of lists, in class I was assigned a project. For this project, I was to create a list of things I would like to do before I do. The list is supposed to be from 50-100 things. I was then supposed to choose 25 of those things and make visual representations of each of them. I’m not going to lie, I’ve never made a bucket list before. When people ask me what I would like to do before I die, I always say Skydiving.  It’s the one thing I’ve known for as long as I can remember that I would like to do.  I thought it would be easy to sit down and create my bucket list but I was definitely mistaken. I mean there is lots of things I want to do in my life but, sitting down and trying to think of them all was difficult for me. I'm really glad I got the chance to make my bucket list though. I’m going to keep it and add to it as I go on.  The Buried Life boys are pretty inspiring. It’s crazy how they made their list and just started getting everything done. It makes me excited to accomplish the things on my list and possibly I could help others do something on theirs. :)

The Places I'd Love to Go (#2, #5, #25, #26, #50)

Now What?

Now What?

Teaching in Australia for a year is something I would absolutely LOVE to do. It started as an idea and now it has become a big dream of mine. First of all Australia is pretty much my dream place. It seems like a wonderful place and I think I would like it there. Second of all, I love kids and I want to be an elementary school teacher. That is 2 things off my list I would be getting done.
For this to happen, I would have to do alot of planning ahead of time and I mean alot.Im going to start by going to University in the fall. Im going to do the 5 year program hopefully. Now Im the type of person who doesnt like to be away from home. So being away from home for a year in  a place where I dont know anybody and is rather far away could be hard for me. So I'm hoping that the 5 years that I will be in school will be enough to prepare me to be more independant to go off on my own and Im sure it will be! Also while I'm in school, I will need a part time job so that I can save up so Ill be able to live out there for a year. So when I hopefully graduate from University, right away I will start job hunting. I will search for jobs in Australia everywhere! I wont stop trying until I find a good place that will take me. If it takes a little while, that will be ok. Ill just work more and save more until it works out.
Once I get a job, I will say goodbye to my family and friends and move to Australia for the year and I will teach little kids out there and it will be great! :)
